<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div><strong>About the role</strong></div><br> <div>We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Research Laboratory Technician (Translational Support Unit) to join Oxford Cancer, a city-wide research initiative and partnership between Oxford University, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Thames Valley Cancer Alliance and the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. We seek to harness Oxford&#8217;s world-leading cancer research from our growing network of 1,000+ members who are working in cancer-related fields. This network covers a range of disciplines, all with the core aim of facilitating collaboration to ensure rapid translation of scientific discovery to treatments for patients. An important part of Oxford Cancer&#8217;s activity is the establishment and management of laboratories, services and facilities used by a variety of cancer researchers working on cutting edge, innovative and high impact projects. Collaborators include academics at Oxford and across the UK, as well as commercial and industry partners.</div><br> <div>This post will form part of the Translational Support Laboratory that supports clinical trials and laboratory-based research by receiving and processing clinical samples. As part of our Experimental Cancer Medicines Centre vision, you will support a range of cancer research through providing laboratory-based researchers with access to high quality clinical samples. These include patient tissue and blood samples collected as part of ongoing clinical trials and experimental medicine studies that require to be precisely processed and stored. You will be responsible for delivering a range of sample collection, processing (including blood sample preparation, biopsy collection, and tissue disaggregation), analysis, storage, and distribution tasks. Aspects of this work are associated with patient stratification and primary clinical end points, so will require to be delivered according to Good Clinical Practice.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a full-time post based at Department of Oncology, Cancer Centre, Old Road Campus Research Building, Oxford OX3 7DQ and is available on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2027.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About you</strong></div><br> <div>You will have experience with the techniques and methods listed in the Responsibilities section of the job description. You will have proven experience be working to GCP standards and in aclinical/molecular/biochemistry laboratory. You will have proven ability to prioritise, plan and manage a high volume of work to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed, and ensure that the laboratory runs in an efficient and timely manner. You will be able to work under pressure while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Experience in using digital Quality Management and Laboratory Management systems and experience in consenting patients and the public to clinical trials will be advantageous.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application Process</strong></div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy need to be made online.
