On the social side, we have regular coffee/cake mornings for staff, a family-friendly Halloween event, and Christmas and summer parties.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees&#8217; wellbeing, and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:</div><br> <ul><br> <li>An excellent contributory pension scheme</li><br> <li>38 days&#8217; annual leave (pro-rata for variable hours appointments)</li><br> <li>Entitlement to University sick pay</li><br> <li>Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs</li><br> <li>Opportunities for remote working.</li><br> </ul><br> <div>More information about working at the School can be found on our&#160;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.bsg.ox.ac.uk/jobs">jobs page</a>.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About the Role</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The Blavatnik School of Government is seeking a Research Assistant to provide research support to the Minerva Global Security Programme: Contested Cross-border Spaces, Illicit Flows, and Order in the Contemporary World, funded by the Minerva Research Initiative.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Reporting to Dr Katerina Tkacova (Research Fellow in the Minerva Global Security Programme), you will be focusing on collecting data on illicit flows and international criminal networks from public sources, including reports and news outlets.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This role is on a variable hours basis, and&#160;it is envisaged that the Research Assistant will work approximately 10 hours per week.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This post is fixed-term until 31 August 2024, with possibility of extension.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About You</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You must hold a graduate degree, together with some relevant experience. You will possess specialist knowledge, have the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities, and excellent communication skills. Experience of collecting data on illicit flows from public sources, and possessing knowledge of mapping illicit flows, international criminal networks and the current political situation in at least one of these regions: the Golden Triangle, the Middle East and Gran Colombia, are also essential.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application Process</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be required to upload a <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.jobs.ox.ac.uk/cv-and-supporting-statement">covering letter/supporting statement, CV</a>, the details of two referees and a writing sample on a relevant topic as part of your online application.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The closing date for applications is <strong>12:00 noon (UK time) on Friday 12 April 2024</strong>.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Interviews are expected to take place on week commencing 22 April 2024.</div> </div>
