<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to come and work under the overall supervision of Assoc Prof Gillian Douglas, in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine&#8217;s laboratories at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics (www.well.ox.ac.uk), working closely with the laboratory of Prof. Keith Channon in the same building. The Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics is a world class molecular medicine research facility located on the University of Oxford&#8217;s Old Road campus, co-located with major research institutes, facilities and hospitals. This facility provides an outstanding work environment, with excellent core services and opportunities for interactions with cardiovascular, molecular and developmental biologists &amp; geneticists.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will work in a team with students, research assistants and other postdoctoral research to understand how changes in phenylalanine affect cardiovascular disease pathologies in the heart and vascular system at both a cellular and whole organism level. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake research in several cutting edge <em>in vivo</em> cardiovascular techniques <em>and in vitro</em> techniques including RNA, metabolomic and bioenergetics in primary and iPSC derived cells. You will be responsible for leading the majority of the work on a newly-awarded 3 year British Heart Foundation Project grant</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be required to hold (or be near to completion of) a PhD or DPhil in a relevant discipline (such as Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular and Cell Biology or Natural Sciences) and have proven recent experience in the field of cardiovascular biology.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a full time appointment on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2027 funded by The British Heart Foundation and you will be based at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, Old Road Campus, Roosevelt Drive, Oxford.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online; you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement which explains how you meet the selection criteria for the post.&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Only applications received before 12.00 midday on <strong>25-June-24</strong> can be considered.
