**About the Role**
We are looking for a highly motivated Deputy Laboratory Manager who will be
responsible for supporting the day-to-day monitoring of the laboratory
facilities at the Peter Medawar Building, Oxford. Reporting to the Laboratory
and Building/Facilities Manager, you will support them in their duties to
manage safety in the laboratories.
The Peter Medawar Building for Pathogen Research is part of the Medical
Sciences Division in the University of Oxford, combining experimental
research, science and bioinformatics. The unifying theme is the investigation
of pathogen diversity by molecular characterisation and theoretical analysis.
This approach offers valuable insights into the emergence, evolution and
spread of infectious diseases. Programmes of research involve organisms such
as HIV, hepatitis C virus, meningococcus, hepatitis B virus, Influenza and
Dengue. The Medawar Building is occupied by the Departments of Clinical
Medicine, Paediatrics, Biochemistry, Tropical Medicine, NDORMS and Zoology.
**About You **
You will have experience of working in medical research laboratories.
You should also have knowledge of relevant health and safety at work
regulations and experience of how to apply them.
