The project involves the synthesis and investigation of &#960;-conjugated porphyrin-based molecular wires and nanorings, particularly molecular wires incorporating several paramagnetic metal centres.</div><br> <div>&#160;<br> <br>&#160;</div><br> <div><em>Find out more about the research group at:</em> &#160;<a rel="nofollow" href="http://hla.chem.ox.ac.uk/.">http://hla.chem.ox.ac.uk/.</a></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applicants must hold a first degree in Chemistry.&#160; The research requires experience in multi-step organic synthesis, particularly experience in the synthesis of polyyne polyrotaxanes and related catenanes, including purification using recycling gel permeation chromatography. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities.
