**Post: Research Assistant in Gene Therapy (Full Time)**
**Contract Type:** **Fixed-term for 12 months with possibility of extension **
We are seeking a Research Assistant to work with the Gene Medicine Group to
develop gene theraputics for a range of lung diseases. The group is directed
by Professors Deborah Gill and Steve Hyde at the University of Oxford, and
based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team-worker willing to
support multiple gene therapy projects. The applicant will contribute to the
production and testing of new Lentiviral vectors for therapeutic application,
which will include the large-scale manufacture of purified virus batches.
This is a unique opportunity for a research scientist to contribute to the
clinical development of new gene therapy products from first inception, proof-
of-concept testing through to succesful manufacturing. The successful
candidate will hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant biological
science subject with expertise in molecular/cell biology and relevant
laboratory experience in line with the duties of the posts, as outlined in the
Job Description.
