**About the role**
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Structural
Materials Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Goodwin
for a period of up to 30 months. The project aims to develop, understand, and
apply functional materials whose structures are based on Truchet-tile
architectures. This particular research focuses on the synthesis and
crystallographic characterisation of Truchet-tile framework materials.

**About you**
Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related area (or be close to
completion) prior to taking up the appointment. Have expertise in the
synthesis and characterisation of framework materials, and particularly
exposure to the use of crystallographic methods for determining the structures
of complex systems with correlated disorder.
You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative
activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate
multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry
Laboratory, South Parks Road, OX1 3QR and is available from October 2024.
