Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to
appoint a full-time Receptionist to provide a high level of customer service
to students, staff, visitors and residents.
**About the role**
As the Receptionist, you will provide reception services to students, staff,
and visitors at the Department for Continuing Education’s various Oxford
locations. The service needs to be run with courtesy and efficiency at all
times, providing information, support, and security. You will act as the first
point of call for emergencies such as fire alarms, threats, and medical
emergencies and incidents, by reacting and meeting the emergency services on
arrival, and contacting management on call where necessary.
The reception operation is run from 7.30am to 11.15pm 7 days a week; the
shifts would be rostered 5 days out of 7 over the week (no split shifts).
**About you**
Working at our busy Rewley House reception, you will have excellent
organisational and communication skills, both face-to-face and on the
telephone. You must be trustworthy, well-presented and be able to use your
initiative to answer queries and solve any problems. Your reception duties
will include using the Department’s online booking system, so you will need to
have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email. Reception
experience would be a significant advantage for applicants applying for this
post, although it is not essential.
