We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated Postdoctoral
Research Assistant to join the research program focusing on pre-clinical
vaccine development, assessing the immunogenicity of these vaccines, with the
goal of malaria control and elimination. You will be reporting to Prof. Sir
Adrian Hill, Group leader and Director of the Jenner Institute, working on
molecular design vaccines such as VLP, subunit, and genetic-based vaccine
platforms.

You will be responsible for managing your own academic research and
administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to
co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will be tasked
with conducting rigorous scientific research to the highest standards of the
field. The role will require you to independently research published material
and keep up to date with relevant literature. You will be tasked with testing
hypotheses and analysing scientific data from various sources, reviewing and
refining working hypotheses as appropriate. Additionally, you will contribute
and collaborate to manuscript preparation, presentations, and other means of
disseminating results.

As the Postdoctoral Research Assistant, it is essential you hold a PhD/DPhil
(or close to completion) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related
field. It is essential you have a strong understanding of proteomics,
characterization, and analysis. You will also be able to contribute ideas for
new research projects and research income generation. Excellent communication
skills, including writing for publication, presenting research proposals and
results, and representing the research group at meetings are essential for
this role.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required
to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.
Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection
criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.

This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract until 1 February
2026 and is funded by the Calleva Foundation.

You may also benefit from being associated with the Calleva Centre for
Evolution and Human Science at Magdalen College, providing access to a vibrant
academic community.

Only applications received before 12 midday on Monday 6 January 2025 will be
considered. Please quote **175809** on all correspondence.
