<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The Building Facilities Technician will form part of the Department of Chemistry&#8217;s integrated facilities management team.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About the role</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The Department of Chemistry is recruiting for a Building Facilities Technician to provide support &amp; assistance to the existing facilities management team in matters relating to day-to-day maintenance, repairs and servicing of the laboratory and building environment within the Department, ensuring that the building and equipment across the Chemistry estate are professionally maintained and serviced in a timely and efficient manner. You will be required under the guidance of the Building Manager, alone or in conjunction with others, to use a range of skills and system knowledge including &#8216;hands on&#8217; participation in technical tasks as required, to ensure a safe, efficient, productive and high-quality research and teaching environment.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About you</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The successful candidate will possess a good level of demonstrable DIY skills, with the ability to switch for example from changing light bulbs to small building projects and back with confidence, including use of power tools, workshop machinery, ladders and scaffold towers.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be knowledgeable in relevant Health and Safety at work principles. You will have basic IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), experience of working in a workshop and/or building maintenance will be an advantage.
