**About the role**
The Department of Social Policy and Intervention is seeking a Research Support
Assistant to join a research team led by Professor Jamie Lachman working on
the research of parenting interventions in low- and middle-income countries.
You will work on the Parenting within the Preschool System in Malaysia study,
providing general research management support, assistance with cleaning
complex datasets, and running simple statistical and qualitative analyses.
The role is based in Oxford however you will work with partner academic
institutions, stakeholders, and investigators in Malaysia and the UK.
**About you**
You will have a master’s degree, or currently be enrolled on a master’s
programme in a relevant social science/public health/statistics discipline,
along with experience in working on complex research projects and on
intervention research. You will be experienced in quantitative data collection
and management and be proficient in data cleaning and analysis using R, or
Stata. Excellent organisational and team working skills are essential as well
as good communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be
published or presented. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to
improving the life of children affected by abuse and poverty.
Experience working in low- and middle-income countries, preferably in the
field of child and family research would also be an advantage.
