future, and we are looking for a visionary **Carbon Reduction Manager** to
drive this mission forward. You will oversee a portfolio of transformative
projects as part of our environmental sustainability strategy in this
fulfilling role.
**Your Opportunity to Make an Impact**
In this high-profile role, you will spearhead a multi-million-pound energy and
carbon reduction programme, directly supporting the University’s ambitious
environmental sustainability strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Carbon and Energy, you will work across the
University’s diverse and historic estate to deliver projects that improve
energy efficiency, reduce operational carbon, and generate measurable
financial and environmental benefits.
You'll play a key role in a transformative heat decarbonisation programme,
tackling one of the most significant challenges in sustainable energy.
**What You ’ll Do**
* Lead and manage a multi-year pipeline of carbon reduction projects.
* Receive, assess, proactively encourage, review and filter ideas and proposals from stakeholders and consultants and contractors for innovative high-impact energy efficiency solutions. Nurture projects through the governance processes and through to delivery by others within the university.
* Oversee budgets, secure funding, and track performance to deliver measurable results.
* Partner with stakeholders across the University to embed sustainability into daily operations.
* Line manage and inspire your team, including the Carbon Project Officer.
* Represent the University in sustainability forums and contribute your expertise at industry events.

**What We ’re Looking For**
We are looking for someone with:
* Extensive, demonstrable experience of programme delivery in a large and complex organisation.
* Proven expertise in verifying, implementing, and communicating carbon reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
* Experience in setting and managing budgets and reporting on financial information
While **not essential** , experience with Building Management Systems, data
analysis, or mechanical and electrical systems would be advantageous.
