**About the role**



The Department of Social Policy and Intervention wishes to appoint a full-time
Advocacy Assistant for the Global Parenting Initiative (GPI), led by Professor
Jamie Lachman and Professor Lucie Cluver. This is an excellent opportunity to
join a vibrant research team and contribute to improving outcomes for high-
risk children and adolescents in low- and middle-income countries.





The GPI aims to meet the urgent need for scaled-up and sustained evidence-
based interventions that promote playful parenting and learning through play,
and prevent sexual, physical, and emotional violence against children in the
Global South.





The Advocacy Assistant will primarily be involved in supporting the advocacy
and policy engagement for evidence-based parenting programmes. The postholder
will have the opportunity to improve and develop internal systems and
procedures and support the GPI team to achieve its aims.





**About you**



You will have strong communication skills and be confident building
collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the
globe. You will be able to work independently and as a part of a team with
excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience supporting
research and analysis would be desirable.





This is a fixed-term post until 31 December 2026.
