The Department of Biology is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant to work
on a BBSRC project awarded to Prof Francesco Licausi. The work is to be
conducted in his lab in the Department of Biology, University of Oxford, South
Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3RB. The postholder will support the group with
general lab activities and plant growth. The group works with a variety of
plant species including _Arabidopsis thaliana, Camelina sativa_ and _Solanum
tuberosum_ as models to investigate opportunities to improve crop yield under
stress conditions.





The duties will include managing research support in the lab and plant growth
facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, placing orders for the
group, collecting parcels, keeping track of reagents and seed stocks,
supervising plant growth space usage and management (watering/ pest control/
plant disposal), taking care of shipping materials with couriers and regular
mail.





The successful candidate will have a relevant bachelor’s degrees. You will
demonstrate relevant experience in molecular plant biology and will work
closely with other group members to assist them with their research. You must
work as part of a team, be willing to help others and manage them to ensure a
plant working environment. The postholder is expected to be organised, with
excellent record keeping and have the ability to work independently and manage
multiple tasks.
