The MSc in Law and Finance (‘MLF’) is a one-year taught Master’s degree, which
offers students with a prior background in law the chance to develop an
advanced interdisciplinary understanding of relevant economic and financial
contexts.
The Faculty of Law seeks to appoint a Departmental Lecturer to undertake
teaching, supervision and research in the field of Law and Finance. The
teaching will be spread across the MLF core course of _Law and Economics of
Corporate Transactions_ (‘LECT’) and two MLF elective courses delivered by the
Faculty of Law: _Principles of Financial Regulation_ and _Corporate Finance
Law_. The postholder will also undertake research and support the management
and continued development of the MLF, in collaboration with other members of
the MLF teaching and administration team across the Law Faculty and the Saïd
Business School.
The successful candidate should hold, by the time of appointment, a doctorate
or other relevant higher degree in a relevant subject; or an established
record of accomplishment in research and a record of high quality research and
publication in Law and Finance commensurate with career experience;
demonstrate the ability to provide outstanding teaching to high-achieving
students in the taught postgraduate programmes and especially in the MLF
programme and have administrative and pastoral skills, to work co-operatively
with University and college administration and to deal effectively with the
pastoral needs of graduate students.
