**About the role**
The Blavatnik School of Government seeks to appoint a **Distinguished Public
Service Fellow**.
The postholder will work with outstanding scholars and practitioners to
initiate, design, and deliver executive programmes that hone the leadership
skills of senior government officials from around the world. They will have
the opportunity to deepen their own thought-leadership and professional
network, drawing on their professional practice and taking advantage of a
world-class research community and the convening potential of the University
of Oxford.
Initially, the post is fixed-term for three years, and can be structured as a
secondment. While we envisage the post as a full-time appointment, a part-time
arrangement is also possible provided all core aspects of the role can be
covered.
_This post may be eligible for the title ‘Professor of Practice’. The title
may be awarded by the University at the time of appointment for candidates
with established standing at an appropriate level of distinction._
**About you**
The ideal candidate will have a track record of excellence at the top of
government and/or the public sector, running a government department or agency
or multilateral organisation; a deep passion for public service; and a
commitment to improving the practice of governments around the world. You will
have the ability to teach effectively across a broad range of programmes,
including executive teaching, and a demonstrable commitment to improving
government through the highest quality of professional teaching and education.
**About the School**
The School is a collaborative, friendly, and dynamic department based in an
award-winning building in Oxford. We host regular events and talks with well-
known guest speakers – all of which are open to staff. On the social side, we
have regular coffee/cake mornings for staff, a family-friendly Halloween
event, and Christmas and summer parties.

Interviews and presentations will be held **14-16 May** **2025** , and will be
online. The preferred candidate/s will be invited to Oxford before an
appointment is made.
