Would you like to be delivering strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
initiatives, developing processes to support our planning for REF2029, and
enhancing our academic and research culture and environment?
The Department of Physics is looking for a motivated individual with a passion
for both science and people to join the research facilitation team supporting
our academics and researchers.
Working with a wide range of Departmental, Divisional and University
stakeholders, including academic, research, technical and professional staff,
the successful candidate will develop and report on Departmental initiatives
to maximise our performance in the REF2029 exercise, particularly pertaining
to the People, Culture and Environment theme. They will lead academic culture,
workload and wellbeing initiatives, including future submissions for Athena
Swan. They will provide expert advice on EDI to inform research grant
applications and Fellowship processes.
If you have a science degree, a deep understanding of EDI issues, excellent
communication skills, a high level of tact and discretion and can win the
trust and confidence of a wide range of colleagues, we can provide you with
challenging projects and the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s
working lives. You should also have significant experience of working in a
complex organisation, managing a number of simultaneous projects and
deadlines.
