We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the optical
wireless communications research group in central Oxford. The post is funded
by EPSRC and is fixed-term for up to 30 months, available immediately. The
position is part of the recently funded EPSRC Federated Communications Hub in
All-Spectrum connectivity. The consortium consists of the University of Oxford
(lead partner), Queens University Belfast, the University of Bristol, the
University of Cambridge, University College London, Imperial College London,
the University of Southampton and the University of Strathclyde. This is a
great opportunity to work across a consortium of partners, with close links to
industry.





The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of networks
of free-space beamsteering systems and other indoor- free-space systems, both
classical and quantum. You should possess a DPhil in a relevant area, with
skills in photonic systems research and experimentation, preferably in an area
relevant to free-space optical communications. You should have the drive and
enthusiasm to create cutting-edge working communications demonstrators and
develop the collaborations required to deliver this work.





There is a possibility to appoint at Grade 6 (£28,098 - £33,518 p.a.) if you
hold a relevant degree/Masters and are working on a PhD/DPhil, and have
relevant experience.
