environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial
Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within Oxford
Population Health, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into
chronic diseases, especially heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse to work on the ‘Heart
Studies Group’ portfolio of trials. The successful applicant will join our
established team of Research Nurses and Clinicians, working on a portfolio of
studies at CTSU. Areas of responsibility will include working as part of the
team to manage the Oxford telephone and on-site trial clinics.
To be considered for this role you will be a first level registered nurse with
full current UK NMC registration, and possess excellent communication skills,
a flexible approach to problem solving, evidence of the ability to show
initiative and work independently, and good computer skills. You will also
have some knowledge of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and experience of
undertaking structured assessments in a clinical or research setting (e.g.
interviewing face-to-face or by telephone).
The post is full time (although part time will be considered) and fixed-term
for 2 years in the first instance.
