**About the role**





Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Organic
Semiconductors to work under the supervision of Professor Iain McCulloch for a
period of up to 24 months. The successful candidate will join an inter-
disciplinary team working on the design and synthesis of novel organic
semiconducting polymers and small molecules for applications such as organic
bio-electronics, photocatalysis and solar cells. This encompasses the
materials science aspects of thin film fabrication and measurement of their
performance. The aim is to investigate relationships between the chemical
structure and properties of the materials and establish design strategies
tailored for each application.

**About you**





Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science, ( **or be close
to completion** ) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires
experience and understanding of the design, synthesis and characterisation of
organic semiconducting and experience in organic bioelectronics, organic solar
cells, or solar fuels.





You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative
activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate
multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines, as well interaction with
characterisation and measurement collaborators.





The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research
Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, OX1 3TA and is available as soon as possible.
