<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>Reporting to Dr Rupert Stuart-Smith, Senior Research Associate in Climate Science and the Law, the postholder will be a computationally proficient scientist who will work on attribution and projections of climate change impacts on human health, with particular focus on climate change hotspots in southern Africa, the Andes, and southern Europe. Working within a multidisciplinary research group at the University of Oxford, the postholder will conduct scientific research that refines existing methods, sheds light on the impacts of climate change in understudied regions, and informs adaptation and legal responses to climate change impacts.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This research will include analyses of the effects of climate change on existing and future impacts (attribution and projections). In particular, the project will examine the contribution of individual emitters of greenhouse gases to the health impacts of climate change, the impact of different future emissions pathways (including those that temporarily overshoot the Paris Agreement&#8217;s temperature goal) on health, evaluating the applicability of different methods for conducting attribution studies, and the development of policy-relevant health indicators.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The successful candidate will primarily conduct analyses of the meteorological impacts of climate change but gain opportunities to work with interdisciplinary methods such as epidemiological and agricultural models.
