Research Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Assistant at the
Department of Biomedical Services. The department provides essential support
to the University’s world-leading scientists in performing their research
activities involving the use of animals.





This post will work closely with researchers to ensure a high level of
delivery on exciting, cutting edge science. You will have direct
responsibility for delivery of procedures on behalf of research groups. This
will include assistance with colony support, surveillance of animal welfare,
minor procedures and surgical procedures.





We are looking for someone who is fully conversant with all aspects of the
Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and holds a Home Office Personal
Licence as they will be expected to perform regulated procedures. They will
also be expected to participate in the on-call rota.





The ability to manage own research and administrative activities by being
highly organised with attention to detail is essential and demonstrating the
practice of 3Rs principles is desirable.





This position is full-time, 2 Year fixed term, 37.5 hours per week and you
will be reporting direct to the Head of Research Delivery. This role will
allow you to work over multiple sites which are maintained by the Department
of Biomedical Services.
