<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>We have an exciting opportunity to join the Institute in a new position of Virus Screening/Production Scientist.&#160; Your role will be to help establish and develop the service, providing expert advice and knowledge to facilitate experiments and to generate high-quality virus reagents.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Forming part of the &#160;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.imm.ox.ac.uk/facilities/genome-engineering-transgenics">Genome Engineering and Transgenics Facility</a> you will undertake virus and viral screening/production related projects, providing an outstanding service to the Institute, as well as the wider University of Oxford research community. You will be responsible for generating high-quality virus reagents, virus-based functional screening services, as well as experimental design advice and data analysis, including vector design and generation and production of retrovirus, lentivirus and adeno-associated virus and viral libraries to research specifications.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will hold a minimum of a BSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline with sufficient practical working experience within a laboratory. Expertise and experience in the production, purification and titration of common recombinant viral vectors and core molecular biology and cell culture techniques (shRNA and CRISPR/Cas9 biology)&#160;are essential. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across a wide range of scientific personnel.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This position is available fixed-term until 31 March 2027.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.
