<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The Oxford Vaccine Group directed by Professor Sir Andrew Pollard is a multi-disciplinary team working across all aspects of vaccine research with the aim to improve human health.&#160; The group led the rapid clinical development of vaccines against COVID-19 in the pandemic and has made major contributions to knowledge supporting the development of vaccines such as meningitis, pneumococcus, typhoid and Ebola, understanding of infectious diseases, and influencing national and global policy on immunisation over 3 decades.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to work alongside world renowned scientists at the Oxford Vaccine Group in a team led by Professor Sir Andrew Pollard. The successful candidate will take responsibility for an exciting programme of work which aims to accelerate the development of a new vaccine against <em>Salmonella</em> Paratyphi using a human challenge model to measure the efficacy of the vaccine in humans, assess immune response to the vaccine and identify correlates of protection against Salmonella infections. Other projects in the team are evaluation of vaccines against non-typhoidal Salmonella infection and evaluation of immunity against <em>Clostridium difficile.</em></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The postholder should have a PhD, with some relevant research experience, sufficient knowledge of translational research and/or clinical research and of immunological methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. You must be an enthusiastic and self-motivated scientist with the ability to manage the day-to-day running of a research project including troubleshooting and a capacity to deliver high quality research outputs.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for three years with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This role meets the criteria for a UK Skilled Worker visa.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application.
