<p></p><div>The Department of Biology is seeking to recruit a Research Technician for 1 year. This post is financially supported by the funds from the Royal Society awarded to Dr Ronelle Roth. The work is to be conducted in the Root Endosymbiosis lab in the Department Biology, University of Oxford, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3RB.</div><br>

<div>The role of the post will be as follows: (i) to be responsible for the planting and maintenance of AMF colonised plant material; (ii) to generate transgenic root material; (iii) to analyse the temporal expression of EV biomarker genes during AM symbiosis; (iv) to assist lab members with isolating extracellular vesicles; (v) to perform western blot analyses.</div><br>

<div>The successful candidate will be educated to at least a masters’ degree level with relevant experience in molecular plant biology and will work closely with other group members. They must work as part of a team, be willing to learn new methods and skills and persevere in case of discouraging results. The role will also include protocol development. The postholder is expected to be organised, with excellent record keeping and ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, including training junior members in the group. Desirable experience includes previous experience with growing plants and general molecular biology techniques, although training will be provided.
