Postdoctoral Research Assistant

The focus of the project is on refining the technical basis for the emerging
concept of Nature Positive, and then expanding the evidence for the
feasibility of a transition to a Nature Positive Economy through further
research and the implementation of multiple practical pilot projects.
Working with the Oxford PI, the PDRA will:
- through a review of academic and policy literature, examine the fundamentals of Nature-Positive (NP), and what is meant by a Nature Positive Economy (NPE); establishing the project’s overall definition for those terms, and an underpinning conceptual framework
- lead organisation and implementation of 4 technical workshops (M3, M6, M12, M18) which will allow the team to further contributing to the development of an NPE framework
- circulate NPE concept/workshop outputs to all stakeholder groups for debate and feedback leading to adaptation and further research as required
Working with the PI and wider Consortium, the PDRA will support efforts to:
- co-develop NPE criteria, indicators and baselines
- stakeholder engagement on a vision for scaling up NPE
- develop NPE roadmaps
The successful candidate will:
\- Hold, or be close to completion, of a relevant phD/Dphil, together with
relevant experience
\- Possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within
established research programmes
\- Ability to manage own academic research and associated activities
\- Previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations
\- Ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income
generation
\- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for
publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the
research group at meetings
