Departmental Lecturer in Sleep Medicine

The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences is seeking to appoint a
Departmental Lecturer to provide teaching for the Oxford Online Programme in
Sleep Medicine. This is a postgraduate programme that runs almost entirely
online. Students will be working towards either a Post-graduate Diploma or a
Master’s qualification. In addition, students may also take individual modules
for continuing professional development. The programme aims to provide a broad
coverage of sleep medicine, ranging from the physiology of sleep at the
molecular level, through to clinical intervention in sleep disorders.





The successful candidate will have research and/or clinical expertise in sleep
disorders. The candidate will be expected to teach across a broad range of
sleep medicine topics, research design and analysis, and lead several
individual modules, including the design and implementation of new modules.
The successful candidate will be expected to supervise MSc dissertations and
provide pastoral support to students The candidate will also be expected to
set and mark exam assessments, assess MSc level dissertations, act as an
examiner in the viva voce exam, take on exam administration responsibilities,
follow correct examination procedures, and design and implement changes to
examination processes.





It is essential that the successful candidate holds a PhD in human sleep
research (preferably with a focus on clinical sleep medicine), or a closely
related human research field. A less experienced candidate may be appointed at
Grade 7 (£36,024 – £44,263 per annum **)** with a commensurate adjustment in
either the essential criteria, responsibilities or duties.





**This post is full time, fixed term till 31st October 2026.**
