We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Postdoctoral
Research Assistant to join Dr Sumana Sanyal’s group, based at the Sir William
Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford.





The position would suit a scientist interested in applying cell biology,
virology and mass spectrometry/proteomics strategies to elucidate virus-host
interactions underlying mechanisms that drive virus biogenesis and host immune
evasion. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out own academic
research and contributing conceptually to the project. You will work with
limited supervision to achieve the goals of the project as well as train and
supervise junior lab members.





The post holder should hold, or be close to completion of, PhD/DPhil in
molecular/cell biology, biochemistry or bioinformatics. You should have some
experience in cell biology and biochemistry, as well as cellular proteomics
techniques. Previous excellent publication record, good organizational and
communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team are essential.

This is a fixed-term appointment available for 2 years in the first instance.
