<div>We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as a <strong>Finance Apprentice</strong> in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN).</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>NDCN is based in high quality research and clinical facilities in the West Wing of the John Radcliffe Hospital, alongside the Department's world-class Oxford Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB), the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (which houses 3 of our research groups) and provides the ideal facilities to translate research from bench to bedside.  In keeping with the award of NIHR Comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre status, to a partnership between Oxford University and the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust, we have developed a highly integrated and interdisciplinary environment in which research, teaching, clinical training and clinical care interact.  This enables us to establish new approaches to the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases.  To this end the Department fosters collaborations worldwide and warmly welcomes visiting scientists, clinical fellows and students</div><br>

<div>You will be a member of the Finance team that supports the administration of NDCN’s diverse, world leading research programmes. You will provide a professional, high-quality customer-focussed service, assisting the team and researchers with the management of financial transactions.  The team deals with a high volume of activity, and you will have to be adaptable, organised, a good communicator and a team player.</div><br>

<div>During your time with us you will gain skills and experience both in the workplace, and through the completion of a course of study. Appropriate objectives will be set during the course of your Apprenticeship and you will be assigned a mentor to oversee your development.</div><br>

<div>The department has a track record of providing a comprehensive level of development to Apprentices, and supporting them to achieve their goals. The Apprentice is able to gain a vast amount of experience on a range of tasks, whilst studying towards a professional qualification.</div><br>

<div><strong>About the apprenticeship</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>You will be required to complete a 27-month (2 years, 3 month) training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and will be delivered through in-house training as well as day release or other distance learning methods delivered by Abingdon & Witney College, commencing January 2024.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>You will complete a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes the L2 AAT qualification as a foundation. You will gain an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate, and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification as part of this apprenticeship.</div><br>

<div>For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN) based on level 6 of the West Wing at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend college one day and the department four days, per week.</div><br>

<div>In total, it will take 21 months (1 year, 9 months) to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.</div><br>

<div>You will be passionate about starting your career in Finance and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. You may be starting your career or you may be looking for a career change.</div><br>

<div>To complete the level 3 apprenticeship, you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English. Abingdon & Witney college will ask you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.</div><br>
