looking to recruit a Senior Development Executive to join our fundraising team
working across Oxford University’s Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM). This
is an outstanding opportunity to fundraise for some of the most iconic
institutions in Oxford, including the Ashmolean Museum, the Bodleian
Libraries, and the Botanic gardens (more details here). You will be part of
the award-winning Development team of the University and have the chance to
help secure the future of our world-leading collections and to enable many of
them to be made accessible to our local communities as well as to
international audiences.
**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced development professional with a strong track
record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and an interest in the
preservation of the world's cultural heritage
• You will lead on major gift fundraising (£100k-£1m+) working with a range of
donors (corporates, trusts and individuals).
• Our team works collaboratively across GLAM, so you will have opportunities
to work on a range of fascinating projects, with some of the most inspiring
experts in the world.
• In the role you will be prospecting and developing your own pipeline,
negotiating gifts, and then managing stewardship activity. You will be
supported by other members of the GLAM team as well as the wider development
office, but will be expected to work independently and to identify new
opportunities to fundraise for GLAM.
**To be successful in this role:**
• You will be enthusiastic about the preservation of world’s cultural
heritage.
• You will be an experienced development professional with a demonstrable
track record of securing six-figure major gifts.
• You must have a confident approach to achieving ambitious income targets and
the ability to think entrepreneurially. You will contribute to approaches to
high level donors (corporate, trust and individual) and will manage your own
donor portfolio.
• You will possess diplomacy, creativity and outstanding communication skills,
as well as the ability to operate comfortably in a large, complex institution
with multiple stakeholders.
• Essential to the role is the ability to develop good working relationships
with the academic community and the development team, and the creativity,
discretion and tenacity to manage multiple projects.
