Data Centre Services Technical Leader working primarily office-based but with
some hybrid working possible.

**About the Role**
In this role, you will:
* **Provide Technical Leadership:** Lead the technical strategy and ensure sustainability and availability goals for data centres and major communication rooms (MCR).
* **Drive Continuous Improvement:** Play a significant role in the ongoing enhancement of these facilities for the University.
* **Collaborate and Communicate:** Engage with staff in various roles to explain strategic and sustainable approaches to data centre systems.
* **Guide University Strategy:** Offer advice and guidance to other parts of the University, contributing to the scoping and implementation of the University’s research computing strategy.
* **Be a Technical Contributor:** Actively participate in the day-to-day technical delivery of services and supporting platforms as a valued member of our service team.
**About You**
To thrive in this dynamic role, you should:
* **Demonstrate Data Centre Expertise** : Show a proven track record of data centre operations and mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
* **Lead with Technical Excellence:** Exhibit experience in providing technical leadership within an enterprise IT environment.
* **Champion Sustainability:** Prove your commitment to delivering sustainable Data Centre, HPC, and large machine room provision and support.
* **Communicate Effectively:** Possess excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
**Additionally, you might have:**
* **Relevant Qualification** : A recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* **Design Standards Familiarity** : Knowledge of relevant design standards, such as ISO/IEC 22237/BS EN 50600 series.
* **University IT Services Experience** : Previous experience in delivering IT services within a university environment.
