<div><strong>About the Role</strong></div><br>
<div>In this role, you will:</div><br>
<ul><br>
<li><strong>Provide Technical Leadership:</strong> Lead the technical strategy and ensure sustainability and availability goals for data centres and major communication rooms (MCR).</li><br>
<li><strong>Drive Continuous Improvement:</strong> Play a significant role in the ongoing enhancement of these facilities for the University.</li><br>
<li><strong>Collaborate and Communicate:</strong> Engage with staff in various roles to explain strategic and sustainable approaches to data centre systems.</li><br>
<li><strong>Guide University Strategy:</strong> Offer advice and guidance to other parts of the University, contributing to the scoping and implementation of the University’s research computing strategy.</li><br>
<li><strong>Be a Technical Contributor:</strong> Actively participate in the day-to-day technical delivery of services and supporting platforms as a valued member of our service team.</li><br>

<div><strong>About You</strong></div><br>
<div>To thrive in this dynamic role, you should:</div><br>
<ul><br>
<li><strong>Demonstrate Data Centre Expertise</strong>: Show a proven track record of data centre operations and mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.</li><br>
<li><strong>Lead with Technical Excellence:</strong> Exhibit experience in providing technical leadership within an enterprise IT environment.</li><br>
<li><strong>Champion Sustainability:</strong> Prove your commitment to delivering sustainable Data Centre, HPC, and large machine room provision and support.</li><br>
<li><strong>Communicate Effectively:</strong> Possess excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.</li><br>

<div><strong>Additionally, you might have:</strong></div><br>
<ul><br>
<li><strong>Relevant Qualification</strong>: A recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.</li><br>
<li><strong>Design Standards Familiarity</strong>: Knowledge of relevant design standards, such as ISO/IEC 22237/BS EN 50600 series.</li><br>
<li><strong>University IT Services Experience</strong>: Previous experience in delivering IT services within a university environment.</li><br>
