<div>This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Europe’s most successful fundraising team in higher education to lead a newly established Principal Gifts team.</div><br>

<div>As a member of the senior leadership team in the University of Oxford Development Office (UODO), the Director of Principal Gifts will play an integral role in setting the strategic direction for the University’s transformational fundraising initiatives by providing leadership and support for up to seven Principal Gifts staff based in Oxford.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>In addition, the post holder will manage his/her own portfolio of donors and prospects, and work directly with the Chief Development Officer and the Vice-Chancellor. The Director of Principal Gifts will play a crucial role in leading major gift fundraising for the University as Oxford prepares for its next multi-billion-pound campaign.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>Securing gifts at this level will require close collaboration with senior University officers, and with colleagues across the collegiate University as well as with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.</div><br>

<div><strong>The Candidate</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>▪       Significant major gifts fundraising experience, including proven success in personally securing multiple seven figure gifts in the UK and/or internationally</div><br>
<div>▪       Confident and credible at a senior level, you will be experienced in identifying and cultivating major prospects and adept at developing significant philanthropic relationships</div><br>
<div>▪       Strong leadership skills, a collaborative management style, and experience of successfully managing staff in a proactive and positive manner</div><br>
<div>▪       Experience gained in a successful and substantial fundraising campaign</div><br>
<div>▪       Ability to collaborate closely with senior leadership, academic, college and development staff with diplomacy, and the aptitude  to engage with key stakeholders on common goals in a complex institution, are essential</div><br>
<div>▪       Confidence to navigate and thrive in a complex, fast-moving professional environment</div><br>
<div>▪       A very high level of literary and communication skills, both oral and written</div><br>
<div>▪       A graduate or equivalent, higher education or not-for-profit experience would be helpful</div><br>
