**About the role**



We are looking for a Data Officer to join the team dealing with planning and
resource allocation across the university. You will work in the broader
Planning and Council Secretariat section (PACS) and contribute to work on the
central systems that drive the coherence of our statutory returns and
management data. You will play an important role in developing and
implementing new thinking about how data can be used to support the broader
operations of the University.





As well as cleansing, analysing and manipulating data you will be responsible
for communicating with end users about how to use central systems to help them
achieve planned changes. You will need to quickly establish the expertise to
be a trusted source of information and guidance on central systems for
colleagues around the university. You will also liaise directly with data
agencies outside the university.





**About you**



You will



• be educated to degree level in a numerate discipline, or have equivalent
experience



• be an expert user of Microsoft Excel and able to use it to manage large data
sets



• have expertise across a range of other software and be able to demonstrate
ability to master new technologies



• be able to rapidly acquire detailed knowledge about complex processes so
that you can confidently talk to colleagues around the university as an expert
guide



• be a good communicator and team-worker who can manage their own workload and
meet deadlines

This role is as part of a small team within the wider PACS section that deals
with the data related aspects of planning, resource allocation, data
governance and business intelligence.
