<div>You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of the installation of mechanical systems across our campus. You will work closely with building surveyors, electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers, making a tangible difference in the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.</div><br>

<div><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>As a Mechanical Inspector, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Quality Assurance:</strong> Monitor the progress and quality of mechanical services installation, ensuring compliance with specifications and design guides. Verify the use of correct materials and workmanship.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Progress Monitoring:</strong> Keep a close eye on the progress of works, reporting regularly to project engineers, managers, and programme coordinators. Highlight issues and potential delays that may affect project</div><br>
<div>completion.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Contractor Management:</strong> Oversee the performance of mechanical maintenance contractors for small works, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Technical Support:</strong> Provide expert support to Sustainability and Capital Projects teams, offering technical reviews of project installations and attending on-site meetings.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Customer Service:</strong> Work closely with university departments to communicate access requirements and operational needs.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div><strong>Equipment and Materials:</strong> Check drawings for errors, oversee commissioning progress, and ensure satisfactory work for invoice processing.</div><br>

<div><strong>To Be Successful You'll Need:</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•     NVQ Level 4 or equivalent (e.g., qualified mechanical technician with proven experience) or HND/HNC in Building Services design.</div><br>
<div>•     Experience with Capital projects involving complex mechanical installations and laboratory design.</div><br>
<div>•     Strong experience in reviewing drawings, specifications, and project programs.</div><br>
<div>•     Substantial experience in inspecting site works.</div><br>
<div>•     Experience in a customer service environment.</div><br>
<div>•     General Health and Safety Knowledge, including issuing and closing Permits-to-Work.</div><br>
<div>•     Valid professionally qualified person - CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.</div><br>
<div>•     Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and reporting software.</div><br>
