Nuclear Imaging Scientist

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The core purpose of the University of Oxford&#8217;s Biomedical Services (BMS) department is to provide for the care and welfare of animals in experimental research and in doing so we support the scientific community across the University.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>We have an exciting opportunity for a Nuclear Imaging Scientist to join our Pre-clinical Imaging Facility at the Department of Biomedical Services, Radiobiology Research institute (RRI).</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Our Pre-clinical Imaging Facility provides technical and scientific support for users of a broad range of scanning modalities including MRI, PET/SPECT/CT, luminescence and ultrasound. The work undertaken ranges from the provision of full study support for user groups, to the development of new and better technologies in order to enhance the use of pre-clinical imaging.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a full time, 2-year fixed term position.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This role will be an integral part of the imaging team, supporting researchers from across the university, as well as external users.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The post-holder will provide high level support and training for the deployment and use of imaging technologies to develop and deliver research aims and objectives, with a focus on pre-clinical imaging capabilities for PET/SPECT/CT.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About you</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>It is essential that you hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/D.Phil in a relevant subject, e.g. biomedical sciences, biomedical imaging, radiopharmacy and have familiarity with PET/SPECT/CT imaging techniques and equipment, as well as handling open-source radioisotopes and preparation/QC of radionuclide imaging tracers.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will also have experience in maintaining and managing PET or SPECT systems, and have experience with small animal in vivo experiments.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Holding a Home Office PIL and having experience with multiple imaging modalities is desirable.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>If you are interested in this role and would like more information, please contact Damian Tyler at&#160;<a rel="nofollow" href="http://">damian.tyler@cardiov.ox.ac.uk</a>&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application Process</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications should be made online.
