We are seeking to recruit a skilled and dedicated Systems Administrator to
join the dynamic team based across the NDORMS institutes: Botnar Research
Centre, Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, and Kadoorie Centre. As a Systems
Administrator, you will play a vital role in maintaining, managing, and
optimising our department and its institutes IT infrastructure, ensuring
seamless operations for researchers, and supporting their computing needs.
Your expertise will contribute significantly to the success of our research
projects and overall organisational mission.





A key aspect of this role is providing technical support to researchers and
staff, assisting with hardware and software issues, system configurations, and
access permissions. You will also oversee the design, implementation, and
maintenance of the organisation's IT infrastructure, including servers,
networks, storage systems, and associated hardware and software components.
You will be responsible for configuring and managing local area networks (LAN)
and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure stable and reliable network
connectivity is accessible for researchers and staff.





As a System Administrator, you must be educated to a relevant degree or have
relevant work experience with strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating
systems, virtualisation technologies, and networking protocols. You will have
solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for data
protection combined with the exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively. Ability to follow
departmental guidance in handling sensitive and personal information,
including complying with current data protection legislation is essential.
Knowledge of containerisation (Docker/Portainer/Kubernetes) and experience of
using SIEM tools are desirable.





This is a full-time permanent position.
