A large and internationally prominent department, Biology, will have over 550 students and around 360 staff. &#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The Department of Biology has five Sections that represent communities of research staff grouped around research themes. Each Section is supported by a Section Administrator, with day-to-day reporting to the Section Head and formal line management by the Executive Officer. The Section Administrator will assist the Section Head for Evolutionary Biology and provide general administrative support for the Section.&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Working within a team of five Section Administrators, you will ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment and will act as a crucial link between Section members and the Department&#8217;s administrative staff. You will deal with a wide range of matters on behalf of the Section Head, and will help organise Section business, liaising closely and effectively with administrative staff in HR, IT, Building Services, Finance, Academic Administration, the Field Station team and the Head of Department&#8217;s office. You will help foster a collegial, team atmosphere within the Section to generate a sense of community. &#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The post holder will have a flexible and &#8216;can do&#8217; attitude and excellent customer service skills. Strong IT and communication skills are also essential for writing reports, emails and website content. You will have proven experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in to departmental policies and requirements. You will be well organised and able to prioritise conflicting deadlines. Experience of organising events is also essential.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The University of Oxford is committed to equality and valuing diversity.
