Communications Officer (Research)
Applications for this vacancy closed on 20 December 2023 at 12:00PM
Internal Applicants Only.
Working as the communications expert for Research Strategy and Funding team,
this role promises to be exciting, challenging and dynamic. The successful
applicant will be keen to engage with the many issues and opportunities that
arise in our world-leading, internationally recognised Medical Sciences
Division, and be a pivotal member of the friendly, welcoming and supportive
team.
The role holder will report to the Head of Communications and have a specific
focus on supporting the Research Strategy and Funding team’s strategic
research theme in Global Health. The role holder will actively raise the
profile and visibility of Oxford Global Health both internally and externally,
and will produce high-quality, engaging content for websites, social media and
internal communications, assist with promoting events, support the development
of thematic networks, and identify opportunities to progress the team’s
objectives.
The successful applicant will have proven communications or marketing
experience, as well as demonstrable experience working simultaneously across
multiple projects, managing varied deadlines, and prioritising workload
effectively. You will be adept at maintaining open, clear communication with
theme leads and other relevant stakeholders, and the ability to confidently,
and sometimes independently, advocate for the use of best practice
communication methods (rather than just jumping on trends). The role holder
should have a good knowledge of digital communications and experience working
with Microsoft Office suite of applications. Experience working in a higher
education environment is desirable.
This position is full-time (although part time at a minimum of 0.8 FTE will be
considered) on a fixed-term contract initially until 30 September 2024 with
the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available. This
post is available as soon as possible and may be offered as a secondment
opportunity.
You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your
online application. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact
Alison Brindle, Head of Communications (Medical Sciences Division) at
alison.brindle@medsci.ox.ac.uk
The closing date for applications is **12 noon on Wednesday 20 December
2023.**
We expect to hold interviews week commencing 8 January 2024.
