On the social side, we have regular coffee/cake mornings for staff, a family-friendly Halloween event, and Christmas and summer parties.</div><br> <div>As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees&#8217; wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:</div><br> <ul><br> <li>An excellent contributory pension scheme</li><br> <li>38 days&#8217; annual leave</li><br> <li>Family leave schemes and a comprehensive range of childcare services</li><br> <li>Cycle loan scheme and discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans</li><br> <li>Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs</li><br> <li>Opportunities for remote working.</li><br> </ul><br> <div>More information about working at the School can be found on our&#160;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.bsg.ox.ac.uk/jobs">jobs page</a>.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About the Role</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The Blavatnik School of Government is looking for a Research Fellow (Fieldwork Lead) for <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.pmb.ox.ac.uk/global-security-programme">Minerva Global Security Programme</a>: Contested Cross-border Spaces, Illicit Flows, and Order in the Contemporary World to&#160;oversee and coordinate fieldwork across three different fieldwork sites in the Middle East, the Horn of Africa, and the Andean region, in cooperation with the Principal Investigator and collaborators.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be an independent researcher with training and experience in designing and overseeing mixed methods fieldwork including interviews and surveys, carried out with local partners in conflict-affected or otherwise unstable settings. You will engage in original, world-class research in fieldwork design and ethics, as well as data analysis, and manage project-related research and administrative activities.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About You</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will hold a PhD/DPhil in political science, development studies or another social science field relevant to the project, alongside a demonstrated track record of producing high-quality research suitable for publication.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will have experience in overseeing mixed methods fieldwork, including interviews and surveys in collaboration with local partners in diverse sites, particularly in conflict-affected areas.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Proficiency in interview and survey methodology, developing fieldwork protocols, and conducting research ethics training for Global South partner organizations, is also essential.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application Process</strong></div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be required to upload a <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.jobs.ox.ac.uk/cv-and-supporting-statement">covering letter/supporting statement, CV</a> and the details of two referees as part of your online application.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The closing date for applications is <strong>12:00 noon (UK time) on &#160;Monday, 22 January 2024.</strong></div> </div>
