Research Assistant in Lactation Endocrinology

The Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health (NDWRH) has an
exciting opportunity for a research assistant in the Larsson-Rosenquist
Foundation Oxford Centre for the Endocrinology of Human Lactation (LRF OCEHL).





LRF OCEHL comprises a team of doctors, scientists and maternity support
workers who undertake ambitious basic science and clinical research to help
women with lactation insufficiency. The team are currently investigating the
biological processes and hormonal mechanisms initiating lactation after
childbirth, with the goal of developing biomarkers for lactation adequacy.





The successful applicant will report to Prof Fadil Hannan, the Director of LRF
OCEHL, and will be responsible for processing and analysing clinical samples
obtained from breastfeeding women. They will also work on mammary cell studies
characterising the molecular basis of hormone action.





We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a
first degree in a relevant biological subject, a good understanding of
maternal health, physiology and disease, and experience using laboratory
techniques such as western blotting and nanoparticle tracking analysis.





The post is offered on a full-time basis and is fixed-term for 12 months in
the first instance.
