Part-time Postdoctoral Researcher; The Oxford Psychological Interventions in Childhood and adolescence (TOPIC)

Applications for this vacancy closed on 1 May 2024 at 12:00PM
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join an exciting
Medical Research Council (MRC) funded project that focuses on increasing
access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for preadolescent children with
obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

The post is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology in the
Radcliffe Observatory Quarter in Oxford. The post is part time (60% FTE).

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 December 2026).

We have worked with families and clinicians to develop a brief face-to-
face/telephone therapist-supported, parent-led CBT intervention for
preadolescent children with OCD. We now intend to conduct further work with
families and clinicians to co-adapt a brief online version of this
intervention and conduct a feasibility randomised controlled trial (RCT) and
process evaluation of the brief online intervention in routine mental health
services in the UK.

This project will involve working with key stakeholders to co-adapt a brief
online version of the intervention, conducting a feasibility RCT and
conducting a process evaluation.

Working closely with study investigators and a range of collaborators, you
will co-lead and monitor all aspects of this project. This will include
patient and public involvement activities, site and participant recruitment,
quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analysis.

You will have or be close to completion of a relevant PhD/DPhil together with
relevant experience. You will have specialist knowledge of child mental
health, experience of conducting Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and/or
co-design activities with lived experience individuals as well as experience
of conducting and recruiting participants and / or analysing qualitative
interview data. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the
ability to communicate with a range of groups, represent the team at meetings,
and write for publication.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement and a CV as part of your
application.

The closing date for the post is midday on 1st May 2024.
