Clothworkers' Assistant Curator of Textiles

The Pitt Rivers and Ashmolean Museums are looking for a specialist textile
Assistant Curator to work on their extensive textile collections. This is a
three-year post, funded by the Clothworkers’ Company. The post holder will
work closely with a textile conservation specialist to assess and document the
collections, working collaboratively with originating communities where
possible. The Clothworkers’ Assistant Curator of Textiles will be based mainly
in Oxford mainly off-site, in the new Collections Teaching and Research Centre
(CTRC) though one of the initial projects will be assessments of textiles on
display at the Pitt Rivers. The role is not suitable for remote working.





We’re looking for a curator with experience of working on global textiles with
communities and a commitment and to co-curation and cultural care.





Note – there is no possibility of negotiating salary





Earliest Start Date – 20th Jan 2025





Interviews are expected to be on the 16th and 17th December
