The post would especially suit someone who has research expertise in nineteenth-century United States political history or the history of ideas.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The project PI is Adam Smith, Edward Orsborn Professor of US Politics and Political History and Director of the RAI. You will be one of two research assistants working on the project alongside Professor Smith. A full description of the project with details of the role to be played by this research assistant is included in the job description (appendix 1).</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The RAI is Oxford&#8217;s centre for the study of the United States and its place in the world. Every year we host a full programme of research seminars and events which attract leading scholars and public figures from across the world. We have a lively and friendly community made up of our small administration team plus early career researchers, graduate students, Oxford academics, visiting fellows, and librarians. In this role you will be fully integrated into the RAI community.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application process</strong></div><br> <div>For your online application, you will be required to upload your curriculum vitae and a supporting statement, setting out how you meet the selection criteria for the post, using examples of your skills and experience.
