**Department**
The Student Fees and Funding team aims to provide an excellent service to some
of the University’s 25,000 students, through the provision of funding
opportunities and management of fees data. Funding opportunities include
scholarship, bursary and loan programmes, international schemes and central
financial assistance
The Administrative Officer will provide crucial administrative support across
a number of subteams within Student Fees and Funding, including the fees team,
on course funding team and scholarship team, as well as assisting the senior
management team.

**About the Role**
The Administrative Officer will be supporting the work of various subteams
within Student Fees and Funding, with a significant portion of time expected
to be spent supporting fees team activity. This will include carrying out fee
status assessments, supporting the University non-payment of fees process and
University Continuation Charge billing process.
The postholder will also be responsible for responding to enquiries from
applicants, parents and staff on a range of fees and funding activity. The
role will be involved in processing funding applications across various
schemes, preparing committee papers and arranging payments to students, with
responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, within the various
subteams.
Alongside this, the postholder will update and maintain student data on the
core student records system and Student Loans Company systems, as well as
updating website content and collating survey data. There will be an
opportunity to support process improvement projects within the Student Fees
and Funding team, gathering data, aiding implementation of new processes and
drafting process documents.
The role presents an ideal platform for developing a range of transferrable
skills and gaining a broad understanding of higher education fees and funding
administration.
**About You**
You will be effective at multi-tasking, keen to embrace change and able to
accommodate a steep learning curve as you adapt to the differing
administrative support requirements of each subteam.
Possessing excellent administrative and organisational capabilities, you
should also be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills,
including tact and diplomacy, and with a demonstrable commitment to working as
part of a team.
Strong IT skills and a good standard of numeracy and attention to detail are
essential, as is the ability to empathise with students requiring assistance.
You will need to be able to establish good working relationships with a range
of staff across the collegiate University and demonstrate a willingness to
acquire new IT skills and comprehend new data systems.
