Personal Assistant for Director– Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated and experienced
personal assistant to join the Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance
(CGPS), as the personal assistant (PA)to the Director, Professor David
Aanensen. CGPS is the leading centre examining pathogen evolution and is at
the forefront of the fight against antimicrobial resistance. As the PA for the
Director, you will be working within a busy team environment and provide
exceptional and proactive support to enable the smooth running of the group
leader’s operations.
You will be responsible for interacting and liaising with a wide range of
external and internal stakeholders - particularly the University and
Departmental support teams. You will be tasked with efficiently managing the
complex and ever-changing calendar of the leadership team, scheduling
meetings, appointments, and events while ensuring optimal use of their time.
You will also serve as a central point of contact for internal communication,
relaying messages, responding to inquiries, and disseminating information to
relevant stakeholders within the research group, collaborating institutes and
the team within the non-profit spin-out company (Digital Epidemiology
Services)
To be successful in this role you will be educated to A-level standard, along
with previous experience as a personal assistant or executive assistant,
ideally in a research or academic environment. You will have exceptional
organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively, as
well as strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability
to interact confidently with individuals at all levels. Finally, you will have
the ability and flexibility to organise complex schedules, events, meetings,
and national/ international travel.
