<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>Applications are invited for the position of Health Data Scientist to join the Rare Bone disease and Osteoporosis Epidemiology team led by Dr M Kassim Javaid at the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS), Oxford. The post-holder will work independently as the lead statistician with guidance from a Lead/ senior medical statistician as needed to deliver basic and advanced statistical support to a range of observational studies related to osteoporosis and rare bone diseases.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>As Health Data Scientist you will significantly contribute to the design, data acquisition, data cleaning, analysis, write-up and publication of the ADOPT and Radiate studies.&#160;In addition you will provide written statistical input into protocols and ethics committee submissions and at the end of the study produce a statistical report of all analyses undertaken as specified in the protocol and SAP. You will plan and manage own research and administrative activities, including efficient co-ordination of multiple aspects of the programme of work to meet tight deadlines. You will also provide statistical advice and liaise with other project members as part of a collaborative team.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You must have a postgraduate degree in applied medical statistics, clinical epidemiology, or a closely related subject. You will also have experience in selecting and delivering advanced statistical analysis for epidemiological studies including predictor selection, bootstrapping, imputation, hierarchical models, survival, competing risk models. You will also be able to demonstrate understanding and experience of a range of epidemiological concepts and techniques (e.g. cohort and cross-sectional study designs, matching). A good track record of peer reviewed scientific publications and experience teaching statistics to junior members of staff is desirable.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a full-time fixed term appointment for 12 months.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The closing date for this position is 12.00 noon on**&#160;06/08/2024**.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div> </div>
