Postdoctoral Researcher in Comparative Politics

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Postdoctoral Researcher in Comparative Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The successful applicant will report to Dr Scott Williamson and participate actively in a research group through the UKRI-funded project DEVAL, which studies why people support democracy and how autocrats try to use that support to facilitate authoritarian political outcomes.&#160; You will play a key part in developing the group&#8217;s research designs, managing data collection and analysis, and writing original research articles.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will also have the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities and have experience of contributing to publications/presentations, coordinating multiple aspects of the work to meet deadlines, as well as working theories and analyse qualitative and/or quantitative data and contribute ideas to new research projects.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, or be close to completion of the PhD/DPhil, together with relevant experience and have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes.&#160;&#160;Country or area-specific expertise for one of the following regions: Eastern Europe, East Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa would be desirable.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The position is full-time and fixed-term for 3 years.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Informal enquiries about this role can be addressed to Dr Scott Williamson <a rel="nofollow" href="mailto:scott.willamson@politics.ox.ac.uk"> </a>scott.williamson@politics.ox.ac.uk .</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
