Evening Receptionist (Language Centre)

Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to
appoint an Evening Receptionist for the Language Centre, to work on Monday and
Thursday evenings to provide a friendly and efficient welcome to learners
partaking in evening courses that run until 7pm during term-time.
**About the role**
Arriving at 4.15pm to ensure handover from the daytime administrators, the
Evening receptionist will staff reception, answering queries in person, by
email and phone, until the building shuts at 7.15pm. In addition, you will
assist the centre’s administrators with clerical tasks such as production of
class registers and photocopying, whilst ensuring tidiness of lobby, kitchen,
and staff room.
This is a part-time, term-time only position (2 evenings per week), available
on a fixed-term contract (October 2024-June 2025 to cover the 3 terms of the
24/25 academic year). This role is shared with another evening receptionist
who covers Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
**About you**
You will have experience of delivering excellent customer service in a polite
and calm manner and be fluent in spoken and written English. You will have
good IT skills, particularly when using Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and
databases. You will possess strong organisational abilities paired with a
proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving.
