<div>We have an exciting opportunity to join Professor Taddeo’s team at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford to work on a project on the ‘Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Defence’.</div><br>
<div>The project is led by Professor Taddeo, funded by the MoD Defence science technology laboratory (Dstl) and developed in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute.</div><br>

<div>We are offering 1 full-time or 2 part-time fixed term contract positions, to start immediately and to end on March 2025. The successful candidate will be based in Oxford but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular UK based remote working with your line manager.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>The successful candidate will;</div><br>
<div>•         Work with a team of experts undertaking cutting-edge, comprehensive and systematic analyses of the ethical, social and legal impact of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for national defence purposes.</div><br>
<div>•         Have the opportunity of shaping innovative research and with it the debate on the governance of AI in defence.</div><br>
<div>•         Contribute to research articles published in international, peer-reviewed leading journals.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>The successful candidate will be responsible for;</div><br>
<div>•         Contribute to draft research articles.</div><br>
<div>•         Analyse academic and grey literature to distil key findings.</div><br>
<div>•         Contribute to the organisation of focus groups and workshop.</div><br>
<div>•         Contributing to the drafting of research reports.</div><br>
<div>•         Participate in academic conferences and experts meeting presenting research findings.</div><br>

<div>The successful candidate will have:</div><br>
<div>•         A background (Master or PhD) in legal studies, comparative law, tech governance, or defence studies or relevant fields</div><br>
<div>•         Expertise on data governance, both legal and ethical aspects of data collection, security, and sharing and/or</div><br>
<div>•         Expertise on International Humanitarian Law and/or</div><br>
<div>•         Expertise on procurement for the defence sector and/or</div><br>
<div>•         Expertise on computer science, data science, artificial intelligence.</div><br>
