Research Assistant in Global Biodiversity Framework

An opportunity for a Research Assistant in Global Biodiversity Framework with
the Environmental Change Institute.
Reporting to Mark Hirons. The post holder will be a member of the land,
society and governance research group with responsibility for the provision of
research support for the agile initiative sprint entitled: ‘How can the UK
implement the finance-related goals of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity
Framework?’ on nature finance (led by Sophus Zu Ermgassen and Nicola Ranger).
The postholder will have a particular focus on the social science component of
a work package that focuses on the provision of nature finance in Oxfordshire.
This will include stakeholder mapping, institutional analysis and engaging
with theories of environmental justice/equity. The postholder provides advice
and guidance to research students where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be able to manage own research and
administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues;
Select, follow, and adapt specialist methodologies to confirm or refute
theories, and identify suitable alternatives where information or research
material is restricted and contribute to discussions and share research
findings with colleagues in partner institutions, and research groups.
The post is fixed-term for 6 months. Please note, this position is advertised
at 0.5% FTE for three months, increasing to 1 FTE (full-time) for a further 3
months.
